A glove is a second palm
Cadet patterns hide 2/64 the way a hem hides a bad measurement. Cute until the green, where the glove comes off and the handle becomes a stranger.
Priya’s two-column ledger exists because of the 14th hole at a West Shore nine-hole where a lawyer took the glove off to putt and three-putted from a distance that should have been boring. He came in talking about nerves. His trail hand had just met a 64th it had not been introduced to. We wrote both numbers. He still three-putts, but he does it with the same handle in both rooms of the game.
If you wear a glove for every swing including the putter, we can live in one column. Say so. If “every swing” means “except the ones that matter to you emotionally,” that is two columns. Emotions are allowed. Hidden thickness is not.
Do not lotion ten minutes before a caliper pass. Do not show up with a brand-new glove still in the sleeve and claim it represents your life. Wear the disgusting one. We have seen worse. We have not seen an honest number come out of a glove that has never sweat.
